Lately: May

May was a lovely month here in Boston. The weather has been kind of bipolar, but for the most part warm. Kai started walking, which is so fun! And we have been allowing him to explore the world more with his new-found freedom. He is becoming so animated and getting much better at communicating his needs and wants. Here is what we have been up to this month (WARNING: extreme photo-dumping to follow):
New shoes (because my husband is awesome)
 Hot messes late at night
Playing at the museum of science

 Messy eating (berry pancakes)

 Kai being a freaking stud
I'm in love with his hair
More very messy eating (spaghetti). Sidenote: this kid can eat. I seriously have never seen a 1 year-old eat as much as Kai.

 Beautiful springtime
 Followed by not-so-beautiful springtime

 Cuter-than-crap posing
Photo series taking on the computer

Lots of being naked when it was hot.
And even more mess making now that he is walking everywhere.

May has been really good to us. We are even more excited now for summer to finally get here. I foresee  many trips to the park and lots of playing in the city. We have some trips from family and to family to look forward to as well. Yay for winter being over!

A Trip to Austin, TX

At the beginning of the month we took a wonderful trip to Austin, TX. It was just the vacation we had been in desperate need of. The city was beautiful, the food was amazing, the weather was gorgeous, the people were the nicest people I have ever met. Basically, we are in love with Austin. Can you tell? It was a quick trip (3 days), but we know we will be back again sometime. Here are some photos of the trip. We were so enamored with the city that we failed to get many pictures of us and just pretty much got pictures of the scenery.
The city from the top of the Congress St. bridge. This bridge has thousands of bats under it that fly out together every night. My dream come true.
 Another view from the bridge.
 Lake Austin
 Us in hill country.
 Yummy brunch at The Frank

Awesome fried chicken at South Congress. These airstream restaurants are everywhere.

The Elvis shrine at Chuy's for Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo
 Chuy's
It was Cinco de Mayo, Kai got a little out of hand.

He was such a good little traveler.

A Monday evening walk

Brad has been working some crazy hours this last week and even had to work all weekend. Today, he got out a decent time so we decided to take Keeva and Kai to the Arnold Arboretum. It is a huge park taken care of by Harvard University. Boston in the springtime is absolutely beautiful, and the arboretum really showcases its beauty. Kai was loving playing in the grass and the flowers and Keeva was having a hay day running around.

It's Party Time!

Our little monster turned 1 last month and we decided it was about time to have a party. We had so much fun celebrating with our friends! Kai is one very loved little boy. We ate lots and lots of food and hung out letting the birthday boy play with his friends.
Unfortunately, I forgot to get pictures of the partygoers (whoops) but there were people there I swear!
Awesome invite Brad made.
Thanks Lynn for the fabric!

The cake did not turn out as planned, but it worked :)
Gotta love Pinterest ideas
