So I recently started signed up for Influenster, a reward based community where you spread your product knowledge and receive products in the mail to try out. These mail in products are called VoxBox's. I just got my first VoxBox in the mail, and it had NyQuil's new sleep aid, ZzzQuil in it for testing purposes.

If anyone is in desperate need of sleep, it's me. Oakley was such a good sleeper until a few months ago, and now she is waking 4 sometimes 5 times a night! HELP. Unfortunately, since Oakley is still nursing, sleep aids are off the table for me :(. I did, however, give them to Brad to try out.

So, how did it work?
Brad: Well, I definitely slept solid through the night for about 8 hours, so that's a plus.  I didn't even hear Oakley get up.

Did you fall asleep within 20 minutes like it advertises?
Brad: No, it still took me about 45 minutes to fall asleep, but I was also on may phone so I don't know if that effects things.

Do you feel refreshed this morning?
Brad: Yeah I feel like a slept well. I'm not groggy either which is good.

So overall, I would say it worked as advertised. If Brad wouldn't have been playing on his phone, I assume he would have fallen asleep quicker. I am just jealous that I don't get to try it. 8 hours of solid sleep...what would the be like?

Fall Festival

This morning, when we went to take Keeva outside and had to run back in for a sweater, I knew it...fall is here! Even in hot Texas, it was cold! What an amazing feeling. In celebration, we decided to go a community fall festival down the street. It was small, but fun, and Kai enjoyed picking out his own little pumpkin. It was a perfect fall day.
Look at that handsome man and his beautiful beard

 Kai loved his pumpkin
Grabbing his face when embarrassed/silly/upset is Kai's new thing

Popcorn and a pumpkin, what could be better?

Elephant Sized Update!

We have a blog. Yeah, I forgot too. Life kind of ran away with me there for the last 4 months or so. Sorry! This is going to be a giant, picture filled, probably over-the-top post...but oh well. Will it suffice if I say I will do better? I sure hope so. Well, here is what we have been up to since we last checked in May (don't hate me). Also, as a random side-note, I think I need to learn to take pictures of things other than Kai...he's just too cute.

We spent a lot of time getting to know Boston because the weather was BEAUTIFUL

We went to a Red Sox game (in the suite) at Fenway!

We got to hang out in the New England Aquarium

Kai got a hair cut and broke my heart
Lola and Grandpa Austin came to town and we got to play tourist

And then go with them to NYC

We were very patriotic

It got really hot, so we spent a lot of time at the beach or splash pad
We went with our friends to the Brimfield Antique Show (one of the biggest in the U.S.)

We then went to Nana and Papa's house in Kirkland to meet baby Audrey and be there for her blessing.

While there we went to the reptile zoo with cousins
And even spent a day on the beach in Port Townsend with Joan
Nana tried to make smoothies one morning...

We went to the Johnson Family reunion at Whidbey Island and had a blast

We then went to Lola and Grandpa Austin's house in Yakima and played with consigns
And Great-Papa took us for rides on the golf cart

We even made it up to Vantage for a day for the Holden Family Reunion

Before heading back to Boston Grandpa took us to see Mt. St Helen's, Mt. Rainier, The Woodland Park Zoo, The Museum of the Pacific, and The Space Needle (it was a big day!)

Once back in Boston, we had to quickly pack up our stuff, say goodbye to friends, and start the long trek out to Austin, TX, where we live now.
Goodbye dinner with amazing Boston friends
Keeva in the Uhaul ready for the drive
Snack time on the drive
Texas hotels have Texas shaped waffles
America is beautiful (I love road trips)
Nane and Pappa met us in Austin to help us move in (and make a trip to the Salt Lick)

Well, that is what we have been up to the last few months. I will do a post about our lives here in Austin (and explain this sudden move) soon, as well as a post on the wedding Kai and I just went to. Hopefully this wasn't too much of a picture dump. :)

Lake Winnipesaukee

Last weekend Brad and I decided head up to Lake Winnipesaukee for the day. If you haven't heard of  Lake Winnipesaukee, the you probably haven't seen "What About Bob," and need to check out this clip. Unfortunately, we found out that the movie wasn't even filmed there. Lame. Regardless it was fun and the little beach towns were like something out of my childhood in the 90's.
After spending the day soaking up the sun, eating more ice cream than we should ever consume, and having the best fish sandwich and fries (not to mention homemade potato salad and baked beans) that we have ever had, we decided that one day was not going to be enough and found a cottage to stay the night. It was seriously the best spontaneous trip.

It took some coaxing but Kai eventually liked the sand
Yes, that is a SMALL ice cream!
 Train station on the water
 Dinner cruise boat
The main part of Weirs Beach had bumper carts, and arcade, and lots of yummy food.
 The open beach.
It was the weekend before the season started so we had the place to ourselves.
This was before Kai learned to like the sand.
 Still getting used to it.

 Best food ever.

 Soaking up the sun.

 The boy and his daddy.

We decided to go to the drive-in and see Iron Man 3 and Oz.
Evidently, not many people come to the drive-in pre-season.
 Our little drive-in nest.

Because it was an impromptu trip we had to buy essentials (toothbrushes)
This was the most random little cottage ever, but it worked.
 Keeva loved the trip.
The front of our little cottage
Cutie patootie liked our trip too.
He gets some crazy bed hair
 I love this shaggy-haired boy
Beautiful, fun trip
